Your

bathroom Remodel

Your bathroom is the most personal room in your home. It is where we put ourselves together to face the world each day. Having it reflect your sense of style and taste can be truly invigorating and empowering.

Finding the initial design element (tile, vanity, wall paper, flooring) to which all others elements relate can often be the first step. This element is frequently found during the initial investigation of materials.

If you don’t have a clear picture in your mind as to what the bathroom should look like, then keep you eyes open for that certain color or texture that lets you begin to see the whole room as one expression.

Owner’s decisions for the Bathroom:

  1. Tub with shower or stall shower?
  2. Vanity cabinet or pedestal sink?
  3. Plumbing fixtures: Tub, shower trim, toilet, bathroom sink, and faucet
  4. Tile floor or other flooring?
  5. Lighting: recessed reading light over tub, heat lamp/fan/light combo
  6. Glass enclosure @ tub or shower curtain
  7. Medicine cabinet or mirror
  8. Bath Hardware:  towel bars, towel ring, tooth brush and cup holder, or shelves
  9. Finish on the metal items: Polished or brushed chrome, or satin nickel

Most of the above are going to be initially assigned an allowance in the contractor’s estimate. Allowance is a construction term for the budget assigned an item before the owner selects what they want. Whenever possible, select the item and provide an actual cost before you start the project. This way the budget will be accurate.
